New Comfast CF-EW85 – A Must-Have for PisoWiFi Setup!

July 25, 2025 Updated by: Kuya I.T. Leave a Comment

If you’re looking for an outdoor access point that’s easy to set up, stable, and budget-friendly, the new Comfast CF‑EW85 might be exactly what you need.

I tested this in a real PisoWiFi setup, and honestly, I was impressed — especially with the 5GHz band. I’ll share my hands-on experience and explain why this is a solid option for both beginners and experienced Piso WiFi business owners.

Comfast CF‑EW85 Key Feature

  • Dual-band (2.4GHz + 5.8GHz) with a Bandwidth of up to 1300 Mbps
  • Qualcomm chipset (QCA9563 + QCA9886)
  • 3×5dBi omnidirectional antennas
  • IP66-rated weatherproof case
  • 1× WAN + 2× LAN Gigabit ports (new features)
  • Power via 48V PoE or DC (new features)

⚙️ My Setup Experience

“No hassle at all. Just plug it into PoE (POE to WAN port of Comfast CF-EW85, then LAN port from POE adapter to your ISP router’s LAN 1), log in, and adjust a few settings. By default, the Comfast CF-EW85 is set to “router mode.” Set it as an Access Point if you plan to connect it to Piso WiFi. It only took me a minute or so.

It can be configured with VLAN tagging, and it immediately worked. You don’t need to do a lot of tweaking unless you want advanced features.

This is perfect for first-time users or small businesses that want something that works immediately. What fascinates me is that regardless of what ISP you are using, be it PLDT, Globe, Converge, etc., it will work without any issue. The good thing is, you don’t need to access your PLDT superadmin to connect Comfast CF-EW85.

📊 Comfast CF‑EW85 Real-World Performance

CategoryResult
Comfast CF‑EW85 WiFi RangeStrong up to 70 meters even in highly congested areas, may reach further in open space.
2.4GHz BandStable for regular browsing and light users
5GHz BandFast and low latency for streaming and gaming
Device HandlingSmooth with 15–50 users
Compatible to any Piso Wifi systemCompatible with any Piso Wifi system

I even tested it during rainy weather, and the signal remained stable. As you know, rain and wind may interfere with WiFi signals. This is great for outdoor use: rooftops, covered courts, or barangay areas. It is suitable for a Piso WiFi Business.

👍 What I Like

  • ✅ Super easy to integrate with PisoWiFi
  • ✅ Dual-band gives users a better experience
  • ✅ PoE power = clean cable setup, ideal for rooftop and pool mount
  • ✅ Rugged weatherproof design (IP66)
  • ✅ Having 2 extra LAN ports, useful for interconnections.
  • ✅ In case you want to use it indoors, you can use a power adapter.
  • ✅ Great value for money (₱2,600–₱3,800 price range depending on voucher)

👎 What I Don’t Like

  • ⚠️ Basic firmware interface (not much for advanced tweaks)
  • ⚠️ Some networking knowledge is needed for VLAN or remote access

📦 What’s in the Box?

  • 1× Comfast CF-EW85 unit
  • 1× PoE injector + power adapter
  • 1× Quick start guide
  • 1× Mounting kit
  • 1× Ethernet cable

📌 Pro tip: Make sure you’re buying from a reliable seller. Some cheap listings have weak packaging or missing PoE adapters. Use our buy button to send you to the official store of Comfast CF‑EW85.

💡 Where Can You Use It?

  • Outdoor PisoWiFi (mounted on a pole, roof, or gate)
  • Public WiFi zones (barangay hall, plaza, waiting area)
  • Cafeteria or carinderia WiFi expansion
  • Point-to-point connections (house to house)

🧠 Final Thoughts

If you want something simple but reliable, the Comfast CF‑EW85 is a smart choice.

“In PisoWiFi, speed and stability mean happy users. This device delivers both — without making things complicated.”

Great News: Admin Account Unavailable SOLVED in 3 Steps!

January 3, 2025 Updated by: Kuya I.T. 2 Comments

Did you encounter an “Admin Account Unavailable?” You are not alone! This is a common problem when accessing your PLDT Fiberhome modem router.

Admin account unavailable error cause

Admin Account Unavailable in PLDT Fiberhome Full Admin Access

Admin account unavailable error has three (3) causes depending on your fiberhome router’s software version.

  1. Disabled Web admin switch. For Fiberhome modem routers, software versions from RP2627/RP2631/2602/2613, RP2646/RP2662 to 2684, you must access the superadmin first and enable the web admin switch.
  2. FOC not removed. Fiberhome routers with software RP2649/RP2740/RP2804 and RP2841 will need to remove the FOC to access the full admin.
  3. FOC removal and hard reset. The latest Fiberhome software versions, RP2920, RP2931, and newer versions, require removing the FOC and hard resetting the modem router.

What is the Solution?

To solve the “Admin Account Unavailable” error, the first thing you should do is find out your Fiberhome router’s software version. How?

💡 fiberhome modem routers are the AN series and HG6 series. The HG8 is not a fiberhome but a Huawei modem router.

PLDT Fiberhome Basic Admin

You need to Access the basic admin of your router. To do that,

  • Open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) in the web address bar, input the default IP address of the Fiberhome modem router, which is https://192.168.1.1 (make sure that it’s https), and enter.
  • On the login page, input the default username and password, and tap or click log in. If this is your first time, you will see an initial login prompt message to change your admin password, WiFi name, and password. Follow the instructions carefully. Once done, log in using the admin and your new password; in the status tab, you will see your router’s software version. This is my router’s software version.

Now let’s proceed to access your router’s superadmin account.

1. PLDT Fiberhome Superadmin

If your router’s software version is one of these: RP2627/RP2631/2602/2613, RP2646/RP2662/2684/, you need to log out from the basic admin first, then in the login page, input these credentials:

fiberhome superadmin access
admin account unavailable

You can copy the superadmin credentials in this post ➔ New PLDT Default SUPERADMIN Credentials 2025!

Now tap login, navigate to debug switch, and enable web admin switch; click apply. Log out, then change the URL from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.1/fh (make sure it is https and Administrator). You can now log in to your adminpldt account using these credentials.

You can copy the superadmin credentials in this post ➔ New PLDT Default ADMINPLDT Credentials 2025!

adminpldt access RP2613 - RP2684

Now log in…there you go; you accessed the PLDT fiberhome full admin or adminpldt account. How about the other software versions?

2. Why remove Fiberhome FOC?

Unlike the Fiberhome software versions mentioned above. The RP2649/RP2740/RP2804 and RP2841 versions have no Debug Switch anymore. PLDT blocked access to the Superadmin account. However, there is a workaround.

To gain PLDT Fiberhome full admin access with these newer RP versions,

fiberhome remove FOC IOO
  • You must first remove the FOC (Fiber Optic Cable) from IOO (Inner Optical Outlet) or at the bottom of your modem router.
  • Restart the modem router until you see that the LOS red LED light is blinking.
  • If it’s in red LOS state, in your web browser, type https://192.168.1.1/fh, and enter.
  • Here on the login page, make sure that it’s Administrator, not username, then input the following credentials:

You can copy the credentials for RP2649/RP2740/RP2804/RP2841 in this post ➔ New PLDT Default superadmin for RP2649/RP2740/RP2804/RP2840/RP2931/RP2932!

You just accessed the PLDT Fiberhome Full admin! But we are not done yet. How about the latest software version, RP2920, 2931, and so on?

3. Remove FOC and Hard reset

These software versions are a bit of a headache, so to speak! Imagine you need to:

  • Remove the FOC first, then hard reset the Fiberhme modem router.
  • After the modem router restarts and the LOS LED light blinks.
  • In your web browser, input https://192.168.1.1/fh and enter.
  • On the login page, see to it, that it’s Administrator, not Username. Input these credentials;

You can copy the credentials for RP2931and RP2932 in this post ➔ New PLDT Default superadmin or adminpldt for RP2931/RP2932!

Guess what? You now gain PLDT Fiberhome Full Admin Access. Yeah, you have to fill in this initial login page accordingly. Change your default adminpldt password, change your WiFi name and WiFi password, and apply. Re-login again using the new adminpldt password. Voila!

❗ Important note: While the FOC is still unattached after the hard reset, you can log in and log out from your adminpldt account. But once the FOC is inserted back into the IOO (Inner Optical Outlet) or at the bottom of the PLDT Fiberhome modem router, you can’t access the adminpldt anymore. You will receive an “ADMIN ACCOUNT UNAVAILABLE” error. To access the adminpldt accounts of RP2920 and RP2931, you must go through the process again.

Accessing RP2920 and RP2931 aftermath

  • After the hard reset, you may lose your phone’s dial tone. To solve this issue, call 171.
