Admin account unavailable error cause

Admin Account Unavailable in PLDT Fiberhome Full Admin Access

Admin account unavailable error has three (3) causes depending on your fiberhome router’s software version.

  1. Disabled Web admin switch. For Fiberhome modem routers, software versions from RP2627/RP2631/2602/2613, RP2646/RP2662 to 2684, you must access the superadmin first and enable the web admin switch.
  2. FOC not removed. Fiberhome routers with software RP2649/RP2740/RP2804 and RP2841 will need to remove the FOC to access the full admin.
  3. FOC removal and hard reset. The latest Fiberhome software versions, RP2920, RP2931, and newer versions, require removing the FOC and hard resetting the modem router.

What is the Solution?

To solve the “Admin Account Unavailable” error, the first thing you should do is find out your Fiberhome router’s software version. How?

💡 fiberhome modem routers are the AN series and HG6 series. The HG8 is not a fiberhome but a Huawei modem router.

PLDT Fiberhome Basic Admin

You need to Access the basic admin of your router. To do that,

  • Open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) in the web address bar, input the default IP address of the Fiberhome modem router, which is https://192.168.1.1 (make sure that it’s https), and enter.
  • On the login page, input the default username and password, and tap or click log in. If this is your first time, you will see an initial login prompt message to change your admin password, WiFi name, and password. Follow the instructions carefully. Once done, log in using the admin and your new password; in the status tab, you will see your router’s software version. This is my router’s software version.

Now let’s proceed to access your router’s superadmin account.

1. PLDT Fiberhome Superadmin

If your router’s software version is one of these: RP2627/RP2631/2602/2613, RP2646/RP2662/2684/, you need to log out from the basic admin first, then in the login page, input these credentials:

fiberhome superadmin access
admin account unavailable

You can copy the superadmin credentials in this post ➔ New PLDT Default SUPERADMIN Credentials 2025!

Now tap login, navigate to debug switch, and enable web admin switch; click apply. Log out, then change the URL from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.1/fh (make sure it is https and Administrator). You can now log in to your adminpldt account using these credentials.

adminpldt access RP2613 - RP2684

Now log in…there you go; you accessed the PLDT fiberhome full admin or adminpldt account. How about the other software versions?

2. Why remove Fiberhome FOC?

Unlike the Fiberhome software versions mentioned above. The RP2649/RP2740/RP2804 and RP2841 versions have no Debug Switch anymore. PLDT blocked access to the Superadmin account. However, there is a workaround.

To gain PLDT Fiberhome full admin access with these newer RP versions,

fiberhome remove FOC IOO
  • You must first remove the FOC (Fiber Optic Cable) from IOO (Inner Optical Outlet) or at the bottom of your modem router.
  • Restart the modem router until you see that the LOS red LED light is blinking.
  • If it’s in red LOS state, in your web browser, type https://192.168.1.1/fh, and enter.
  • Here on the login page, make sure that it’s Administrator, not username, then input the following credentials:

You can copy the credentials for RP2649/RP2740/RP2804/RP2841 in this post ➔ New PLDT Default superadmin for RP2649/RP2740/RP2804/RP2840/RP2931/RP2932!

You just accessed the PLDT Fiberhome Full admin! But we are not done yet. How about the latest software version, RP2920, 2931, and so on?

3. Remove FOC and Hard reset

These software versions are a bit of a headache, so to speak! Imagine you need to:

  • Remove the FOC first, then hard reset the Fiberhme modem router.
  • After the modem router restarts and the LOS LED light blinks.
  • In your web browser, input https://192.168.1.1/fh and enter.
  • On the login page, see to it, that it’s Administrator, not Username. Input these credentials;

You can copy the credentials for RP2931and RP2932 in this post ➔ New PLDT Default superadmin or adminpldt for RP2931/RP2932!

Guess what? You now gain PLDT Fiberhome Full Admin Access. Yeah, you have to fill in this initial login page accordingly. Change your default adminpldt password, change your WiFi name and WiFi password, and apply. Re-login again using the new adminpldt password. Voila!

❗ Important note: While the FOC is still unattached after the hard reset, you can log in and log out from your adminpldt account. But once the FOC is inserted back into the IOO (Inner Optical Outlet) or at the bottom of the PLDT Fiberhome modem router, you can’t access the adminpldt anymore. You will receive an “ADMIN ACCOUNT UNAVAILABLE” error. To access the adminpldt accounts of RP2920 and RP2931, you must go through the process again.

Accessing RP2920 and RP2931 aftermath

  • After the hard reset, you may lose your phone’s dial tone. To solve this issue, call 171.

Can you help me to log in to the super user of the Fiberhome router, model HG6243C? When I try to log in, it says the password has been changed. Even when I reset the factory settings, the same problem remains.
